Mānuka

That’s It’s not-so-secret super-power is our potent, 100% pure New Zealand Mānuka Oil. So what makes mānuka oil so special? Turns out, a whole load of things, but in a nutshell? It is a really effective, 100% natural, sustainable, alternative to treating a whole lot of everyday ailments, annoyances and abrasions.

Much of mānuka oil’s efficacy is linked to its levels of naturally occurring chemical compounds called triketones. To ensure the maximum potency of That’s It Mānuka Oil we specifically grow a regional variant known to produce high triketone levels.

Our vacuum distillation method allows steam to form at a much lower temperature, reducing triketone damage and creating a 100% pure, high-potency, essential mānuka oil. Efficacy is a fundamental bottom line for That’s It – we began when we couldn’t find a natural product that could keep up with us! When we use That’s It Mānuka Oil as an active ingredient – for example in That’s It First Aid Gel – we always err on the side of generosity, adding enough to create high potency, highly effective products where a little goes a long way.

To get slightly more detailed, it is an essential oil created from steam distilling the bark, wood and leaves of New Zealand’s native Leptosepermum scoparium shrub (commonly known as mānuka). There is an ever-expanding list of extraordinary medicinal benefits — including antiseptic/bacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties — linked to this veritable super-plant. For centuries it was used throughout traditional Māori Rongoā practice to treat internal and external ailments, fight infection, help heal wounds, soothe pain and reduce inflammation. In more modern times, scientific studies have verified this indigenous knowledge, uncovering the host of antimicrobial properties that make mānuka oil such an effective, multipurpose topical treatment.
