Whaka 100

Taupō Ultramarathon
The Taupō Ultramarathon is a spectacular journey along Taupō’s Great Lake Trail with 50km, 70km and 100km ultras plus a 24km trail run.
The Great Lake Trail showcases the very best of what the Great Lake Taupō region has to offer - expansive lake views, rugged mountains, mighty rivers, pristine waterfalls, and untouched native New Zealand bush. The Taupō Ultra offers a once-a-year opportunity where runners can access the Great Lake Trail uninterrupted, including access over private land.
A huge thanks is given to the land owners, trail builders, community organisations and many others who make this event possible.
Poronui Passage
Deep in the Taharua Valley, Poronui is an incredibly beautiful and authentic back country station set in the foothills of the Kaimanawa Mountain Ranges just 40mins outside of Taupo. This unique location hosts the luxury all inclusive trail event that the team at That’s It love!
The Poronui Passage offers an insanely scenic and challenging MTB, run and walking courses, plus pre and post race experiences including hot showers, free massage, gourmet food, craft beers and wine, high quality event apparel and epic event medals – all included with your entry!
Rookies Women's Ski Camps
We're proud to sponsor the Rookies Women's Camp. This ski camp aims to help women achieve their highest level of performance, boosted by the camaraderie that comes when a group of adventurous women ski together.
Rangitikei Adventure Race
The Rangitikei Adventure Race is based around different sections of the Rangitikei River.
At 254kms the Rangitikei River is one of New Zealand’s longest and most scenically stunning rivers. Its sheer vertical papa (clay) white cliffs (which are unique to this part of NZ) and deep canyons provide the perfect setting for adventure activities such as white water rafting and kayaking.
This year the Rangitikei Adventure Race will include a 6hr duathlon and 12hr paddling and duathlon options and all will be run in a rogaine style format.
The Rangitikei Adventure Race is part of the Adventure1 series that brings together 4 events around the country to form a National Championship. The 12hr paddling event is part of the A1 Series.
Love Taupō Trail Festival
The latest event in the total sport line-up is the Love Taupō Trail Festival, and is 100% about bringing a wide range of people to participate in a quality line-up of trail-based events.
Beyond the events, it’s about connecting with others (and ourselves) on and off the trails, to make new friends, to catch up with old ones, to capture valuable whanau time, to make new memories, and to celebrate and cherish the magic of nature and outdoors, and the benefits we get by being outside in nature.
Kaikoura Adventure Race
The Kaikoura Adventure Race is a traditional adventure race that encompasses multiple disciplines, including hiking, mountain biking, pack rafting, and navigation. With its mountains, sea, hill country, rivers and an abundance of native bush the stunning scenery never disappoints.
Teams unite to conquer challenges and complete stages back to back. The courses provide a balance between pushing the limits of the strongest teams while remaining achievable for all participants. Choose from the exciting 3, 6, 12, or 48-hour events and embark on an unforgettable adventure.
Shimano Volcanic Epic
The Shimano Volcanic Epic, presented by Tineli, is a unique five day mountain bikestage race held across 200km’s of New Zealand’s spectacular North Island geothermal region.
If you’re looking for a truly special mountain bike event, the Shimano Volcanic Epic is your ticket to the experience of a lifetime.
Southern Lakes Ultra
This incredibly scenic Multi Day Ultra Marathon covers approx. 250km, through some of New Zealand’s most iconic landscapes.
Starting on the shores of the stunning Southern Lakes, overlooking the crystal clear waters and surrounded by Mountains, the race will have you travelling via foot, alongside rivers, lakes, mountains, traversing through valleys, climbing peaks, passing waterfalls, Ski fields, old Gold Mining Towns, crossing rivers, canyons, running through forests and finishing high above the Adventure Capital of the World….Queenstown.
That Place Spoke Jam
A weekend of sweet mountain biking fun in a spectacular setting!
This event welcomes mountain bikers to That Place, a mountain bike park with sensational downhill riding, from white knuckle grade 6 action to gentle grade 2 flow.
Taupō Marathon
The Taupō Marathon is one of New Zealand’s longest-standing events.
With unbeatable views from Taupō's lakefront, the course has options to suit all ages and all abilities. It’s a great event for friends and family to get together and make some amazing memories that will last a lifetime.
Every finisher in every distance gets an amazing medal to show for their achievement.
Cape Kidnappers Trail Run
An off-road adventure for adventurous kiwis. Cape Kidnappers will take you on an amazing journey through some stunning locations in Hawke's Bay not normally accessible to the public.
